Maui police are investigating bomb threats against two Kahului stores as terroristic threatening cases. They say the threats appear to be related. In both cases a caller threatened to set off a bomb unless the business put money into a reloadable Visa debit card. The first call came at 10:24 a.m. Friday at the K-Mart in Kahului. The caller said there was a bomb in the store and it would explode unless money was added to the debit card. The other incident happened just before 11 a.m. at the Walgreen store in Kahului, where a similar demand was made. No money was sent and both businesses evacuated customers and employees from the stores. Nothing suspicious was found in a search of the two stores.
