HVCB & Google Form Partnership

The Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau and Google Maps announced a first-of-its-kind partnership today enabling the Bureau to borrow the technology company’s state-of-the-art Street View Trekker equipment to collect 360-degree images and visually showcase the Hawaiian Islands’ natural beauty online.  The first phase of the project will focus on Hawaii’s most popular hiking trails, beginning on the Big Island this month. Hawaii Forest and Trail, an eco-tourism company based in Kailua-Kona, will help identify which trails to feature.  Jay Talwar, HVCB's chief marketing officer, said the partnership with Google Maps will help the bureau create sustainable long-term demand for the Hawaiian Islands.
