Lawmakers Don't Have Votes for Special Session on Gay Marriage

It looks like the issue of gay marriage in Hawaii won't be resolved until the next legislative session. State House and Senate leaders said yesterday they do not have the two-thirds' support required to call a special session on gay marriage. They'll return to the state Capitol to discuss it if Governor Neil Abercrombie initiates it.  Gay rights advocates are urging the governor to do so.
